Elizabeth, niece of Saint Anna and a cousin of Mary, was the wife of the Priest Zachariah.
She was barren and could not have children. However, God blessed her and now she was with child as well.
This child of hers was special - he would prepare the people for the coming of Christ. After his birth he would be named John, John the Forerunner. When Mary went to see Elizabeth and the two of them met and greeted aech other, Elizabeth's baby leaped within her, showing his joy and worshipping Christ.
